Develop & Implement an OH&S Management System for your Organisation
A Safety Management System (SMS) is a tool which actively encourages the removal of OH&S hazards / risks before they reach the workplace. .
An OH&S Management System is a mechanism that may be used to ensure an organisation has in place the necessary controls to:
- Understand and comply with the OH&S performance required by legislation and the organisations own policy.
- Establish and maintain the organisations current OH&S performance against relevant requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement.
- Implement an improvement plan.
AIC SMS Development & Implementation
Many organisations have an "ad-hoc" approach t Health & Safety or have seen it as too expensive with dire results and serious consequences. Organisations are legally required to manage their Occupational Health & Safety risks.
OH&SMS consist of a wide variety of approaches and can vary considerably between organisations. There is no fixed or best way to develop and implement a SMS in any organisation.
AIC can work with you to design a SMS which is based on a given model such as the AS/NZS 4801 and AS/NZS 4804 & relevant OHS regulations. Alternatively it could be developed t meet the unique needs of the organisation.
The selection, implementation and maintenance of such a system is a strategic business decision. |
